Find the Pawfect Fit

Use your dog’s key measurements and weight to find the right wheelchair size. If your dog can stand safely, providing chest and waist girth allows us to recommend a more precise harness fit.

Back Height

Measure from the ground to the top of your dog’s back, with your dog standing naturally on all four legs.

Chest Girth

For front support use. If your dog can stand comfortably, measure around the widest part of the chest. This helps us select the most suitable harness size.

If your dog cannot stand? Have your dog lie comfortably on their side. Gently position the leg in its natural standing position without pulling or straightening it, then take the height measurement as shown in the guide.

Waist Girth

For rear support use. If your dog can stand comfortably, measure around the waist where the harness sits. This helps us fine-tune the harness fit.

How to Wear

Follow each step to ensure secure support and proper alignment.
Step 1

Set the Frame Direction

Set up the frame for front- or rear-leg support by positioning or reversing it accordingly. Ensure the frame is assembled in the correct direction before fitting your dog.

Step 2

Wear the Harness

Fit the harness around the affected part of your dog’s body - chest (front-leg) or hips (rear-leg). Adjust the straps so the harness is snug and centred without restricting movement.

Step 3

Attach the Harness to the Frame

Attach the square ring on the harness to the ring on the wheelchair frame. Secure the connection, then gently rest your dog’s body on the belly strap so their weight is comfortably supported.

Step 4

Lift and Adjust the Legs

Carefully lift the weak legs and place them into the leg support loops. Adjust each loop so the legs are comfortably supported, with paws positioned naturally and free from pressure or twisting.

FIT CHECK

Check the support, alignment, and comfort before every walk.

The harness sits comfortably around the chest or hips, depending on the support position, without slipping, pinching, or restricting breathing.

The wheelchair frame is centred with your dog’s body and configured in the correct direction for front- or rear-leg support.

Your dog’s weight rests naturally on the belly strap without excessive pressure on the abdomen or chest.

For the affected legs, make sure the paws are comfortably positioned and do not drag against the ground or wheels during movement.

Check all the connections are fully attached and all straps and adjustment points are secure before use.

Always check your dog’s comfort during and after use. Stop using the wheelchair if you notice persistent rubbing, pressure marks, discomfort, or unusual changes in movement. Fit may need to be readjusted as your dog becomes familiar with the wheelchair or as their condition changes.

Frequently asked questions

What does “reversible” mean?

The wheelchair can be configured to support either the front or rear legs. By changing the direction of the frame assembly, the same wheelchair can be adapted to your dog’s current support needs. This makes it particularly useful when mobility requirements change during rehabilitation or recovery.

Can I switch between front-leg and rear-leg support?

Yes. The wheelchair is designed to be reconfigured for either front- or rear-leg support. The frame direction must be changed before fitting the wheelchair to your dog. Follow the assembly instructions carefully and ensure all frame connections are secure before use.

How do I know which support position my dog needs?

Choose the configuration based on which part of your dog’s body requires additional mobility support. The front-support configuration is intended for dogs with reduced front-leg function, while the rear-support configuration is intended for dogs with weak or impaired hind legs. If your dog’s mobility needs are changing or unclear, consult your veterinarian or rehabilitation professional.

Can my dog move naturally while using the wheelchair?

The wheelchair is designed to provide targeted support while allowing your dog to retain as much natural movement as possible. Adjust the height and width so the frame remains balanced and centred around your dog’s body. During the first sessions, observe posture and movement carefully and make adjustments if your dog is leaning, twisting or showing signs of discomfort.

Can I use the handle to lift my dog?

The integrated handle provides a convenient grip when helping your dog move between locations, such as getting into a car or navigating stairs. It is intended as a lifting aid rather than a replacement for appropriate manual support. When lifting, support your dog’s body as needed and ensure the wheelchair is securely assembled before handling.
